The ATMs of this life.

I say unto my Kids that all what they get in their life through me is in fact their Rizq (livelihood) which Allah Azzawajal has destined for them. I am nothing but like an ATM (Teller Machine) for disposing their destined possessions which their Rabb bestows for them. Tomorrow it may be another ATM in their life.

The Rizq of each one of us predestined before we were even born.  It is like each one of us is given an ATM card with certain charged balances in it to live this life.  One has to only search for the nearest and the right ATM for its disposal. It may be a shop, a business, a company and so on which may be the sources of our Rizq.

As we all know it is not the ATMs that funds us. ATM are only means for disposal and they are fed by powerful hands behind. Likewise, whatever Rizq is earned in your life through shop or salary, it is your Rabb providing you who is so powerful. He knows the needs of everyone and He feeds each one accordingly. Our greediness has no place before Him. He cares our need and not our greed.

Now the currency that comes out of your ATM may be valuable as dollar or can be in bulk as Indian Rupees. This is based on your deeds. If your deeds are satisfactory to your Rabb, He shall provide Barakah in your life. Which may be less in count but more in value. Hence don’t look just for the count of what you have got. Look what it actually benefited you in life. Your life will not end without your card getting empty. So never worry for your Rizq.  Your duty is to search for the ATMs of your life and the earth of Allah is so wide. Respect but don’t worship the ATMs (sources of your Rizq), rather know your Rabb, Allâh, the All-Provider, Owner of Power, the Most Strong. Who can provide you through ATM or by any other means or without any means. He is the Source.

Paradise of the Quran.

My heart flies like a bird in the paradise of the Quran. Allahu Akbar. What a beauty. What a voice. What a Noor. Shaikh Abdul Basith Abdul Samad, May Allah shower His Mercy upon him. A great Qari who lived in our time, lucky and blessed are those who found life's beauty in the Quran."

Agree to disagree

A Daee ( One who reminds himself and others about Allah ) was talking to a group of warriors who were into fighting between the Muslims on sectarian differences.   To make them understand of their grievous sin of this mutual rivalry, the Daee wrote the Kalima   لا إله إلا الله محمد رسول الله  on a white paper and hung over a nearby tree. He then asked those holding guns to shoot at it. They all refused to shoot at the paper. They said, how can we shoot at this blessed Kalima  and we don’t dare to do this.

Daee then asked them?. How dare then you shoot a brother Muslim who has uttered this Kalima and bear this Kalima in his heart!!!

Your disagreement with someone doesn’t give you the right to insult or harm him. One should agree to disagree.

قُلۡ فَلِلَّهِ ٱلۡحُجَّةُ ٱلۡبَـٰلِغَةُ‌ۖ فَلَوۡ شَآءَ لَهَدَٮٰكُمۡ أَجۡمَعِينَ
Say: "With Allâh is the perfect proof and argument, had He so willed, He would indeed have guided you all." (Surah Al Anaam: Ayah 145)

You are your personality, not your position or status

A business man who arrived late to the airport missed his flight. He was upset about this and started arguing with the lady at the gate as she explained the gate just got closed and she cannot let him in. The man shouted at her “ Do you know who I am?, I am the business man, I am the Mr.XYZ of that ABC company and so on”. The lady went inside and told her manager  "There is a man at the gate who doesn’t know who he is ,please deal with him”

”Beauty is only Skin Deep”

Our body Skin is a thin layer of beauty which Allah has made that covers much of our internal filths. Likewise, he has made a skin over our faults and what people see is this beautified skin. Hence someone praising you doesn’t mean that’s only because of the goodness or greatness in you.  At large, it’s the greatness of Allah’s Sithr (covering). Hence say Alhamdulillah for the skin Allah has put over your faults.
He covers the defects of His slaves (ستار العيوب). If this skin was removed, we may all have been exposed. We should not expose ourselves nor someone else by tearing off that skin that Allah has put on us.

وَلَا تَلۡمِزُوٓاْ أَنفُسَكُمۡ
And do not find fault with one another, (Surah Al Hujraat: Part of Ayah No.11)

Allah Azzawajal has the power to expose anyone who crosses much beyond the boundaries. That too is part of His mercy as it may be a reason for the sinner to repent and for others to be safe and cautious of such sins.

Once a thief who was caught was brought before Hazrath Umar (r.a). The thief made an excuse saying it was his first crime. For this Hazrath Umar (r.a) replied. You lied, Allah does not catch His slave at the first sin.

The OS (operating system) in man and animals.

Technically speaking, if you look at the animals around you, they are whom Allah created with a fixed operating system (OS) in them. Say for example Android Jelly beans release 5.0. There is no upgrade or update on the OS of an animal. They remain the same throughout their life and this applies to all the cats, dogs or other creations. They die as they were born. The activities they perform are predefined in their OS. For example, Swimming was a built-in option under accessibility settings which a cat or dog may switch on whenever necessary.

As for man, there is no built in OS. He is created as a blank, a fresh and highly potential device with minimum bootup systems. Each one then builds their own OS in their life time. The OS he builds is unique which none before or after can build similar. There is no copy and paste commands. A father cannot copy his very own OS he built in his lifetime for his beloved son. But man can do is imitate. Take the example from someone and build a similar OS. He can imitate the cleanest of OS that had the best of antivirus protection as of the Prophets or the OS with full of virus as of a devil.  He can build a virus which generations of OS may be infected or a good value which generations may benefit. This is only for man and each and every man is unique in all aspects in the creation of Allah. Both physically and spiritually.

Say, “Everyone acts in his own style. So, your Lord knows best which one is better guided in his way.”  (Surah Al-Isra, Ayah No.84)

The washing machine of life.

The life of this world is like that of a washing machine. Wherein each individual cloth is put separately, who are then together for a while in their rotation but taken out as individual clothes after the wash. Likewise, we all came to this world as individual, though in the rotation of life we are together for some time. The position we are placed in, our surroundings and people around us are only a destiny-bestowed by Allah. What matters is how much cleaned each one is in their position and place. One may be as low as a pair of socks or as elevated as a head gear (topi) (in their position), but if they get cleaned they are all elevated to the same row over the clothes-line.

One is elevated to the ranks for Taqwa even if he is of the Habsha (Ethiopia) as Bilal (r.a).
One is thrown to the bottom of pit for Kufr even if he is of noble Quraish as Abu Jahl.

Then stained clothes are put aside and may be processed through bleaching. But permanently stained or totally dirty are thrown in the dustbin of eternity. May Allah save us all.

You have come to Us all ALONE, just as We had first created you, and you have left behind you what We had bestowed on you  (Surah Al-Anaam: Part of Ayah No. 94)

Hafiz Yahya Haji of Kerala returned to Allah - إِنَّا لِلّهِ وَإِنَّـا إِلَيْهِ رَاجِعونَ

The story of Hafiz Yahya Haji
starts with his father. Who was a well-known Multi Million business man from a very high-class family of Quilon (Kollam Dist.), Kerala. It was at the full-fledge of his business, Allah Azzawajal opened the doors for him towards the efforts of Da’wa and Tabligh. That was a great change for someone who was enjoying worldly life to its fullest. Left behind everything for the sake of Allah and turned towards Deen. Thus, a large cinema theater which he was building at Ernakulam city was turned to Masjid. So, you know how far is the change.  Yahya Haji was one of his son who then was studying in a top English Medium school at Bangalore was dropped at and joined to a Madrassa to be a Hafiz and an Alim. Thus, a great sacrifice was done by all means in forsaking that of an ignorant past and towards building life upon Deen.  Hence Hafiz Yahya Haji was the fruit of his father’s immense sacrifice.

It was after the Demise of great Daee and an Alim from Kerala named Moosa Moulana (May Allah shower mercy on him), I heard about Hafiz Yahya Haji. Allah gave him a personality which would attract any. I remember his early days. A majlis would be pin drop silent, none would dare to leave in between. A bayan may be hour or two, not a minute eye is taken away from him. He was more a teacher than a speaker. A teacher is someone who tries to make the audience understand in whatever the ways of that which he has understood for himself.   As a good teacher can make a complex subject interested and easy to the students, his presentation of Tabligh was appealing and easy for the new generations. He told only that’s practical and acceptable.

He had all the qualities of a leader. As we know, in Tabligh, leadership is never sought but the leadership itself seeks the right person. What others would do in days, he would do in hours. A fast and quick decision maker. Someone who has explored the depths of this world and who understood the problems of the youth. Who is well aware of the world around him. He was against any kinds of extremism. Either in Deen or in Tabligh. For me his greatest success or influence was the emergence of numerous Da’ee who could balance between Deen and Dunya. Doing their best in the efforts of Deen, Best in Business or job, best in the family.  As we all know extremism in all lines is the dangerous thing we all face in this era. To be extreme is easy where as to balance this life and to be of that ‘Middle Nation’- أُمَّةً۬ وَسَطً۬ا is difficult.

His Bayan used to be top of my list. Some of which I have uploaded online years back which you may get them just by googling ‘YAHYA HAJI KERALA’ and See the top results.  There are Urdu Bayans aswell that I uploaded which he made in a Masjid in New Zealand.

I am much happy that I could do some khidmat to him in person when he visited for Umra last few years. We once had his whole family trip to Taif and other sightseeing places. He and his mom was sitting in my car and He was talking all the way. Whatever the subject he discussed, I feltlike I was sitting with someone who knew everything around him and whose life experience has surpassed his age. As I am dealing with financial accounting software, he has better knowledge of all this as well.

We mutually used to text in WhatsApp thereafter then and then. Once while I was in in Sudan I saw him in a dream visiting him in a sick state. The same day, I got the opportunity to serve a Kerala Jamaath in Khartoum where all the members of the Jamaath was sick. I took them to a Hospital and could do some Khidmah Akhamdulillah. I informed him about this and he made Dua for me.  His recent message in the WhatsApp, which I read so sadly was a farewell message to forgive him for anything if he has done wrong.

Yahya Haji is a person and a personality which got molded in his time, place and circumstances. Hard to replace and hard to get back. What’s lost is lost. History itself has to roll back to get someone like of him. Alhamdulillah, he was given a chance and he used it to his best. Everything what he had, was used for the efforts of Deen. His knowledge of multiple languages. His intellectual, financial, the multi-talented personality, everything was sacrificed for the sake of Deen.

May Allah accept him. He has returned to the One Almighty about Whom he was reminding all his life. Allah Azzawajal, the One Who never dies but makes all of His creations die. Now he has met the very day of certainty which he reminded all of us with, the death. We all are part of mere dust this day or the other.  Glory be to Allah who makes all die but He never dies- سبحان الذي يميت الخلائق ولا يموت

We ask Allah Azzwajal to forgive him. Show mercy upon him. The day we all are gathered in the courtyard of the Almighty (Mah’shar), be united in the shade of His throne. May Allah unite him and all of us and all Muslims in the eternal abode of the pious. In the company of Rasulullah (s.a.w). In the everlasting paradise where the fruits of all hardships in the path of Allah are enjoyed for eternity.

Ameen.

The story of the numbers. Story for kids

This happened long time ago, once upon a time the number 9 beat number 8. Number 8 asked crying why did you beat me? Number 9 replied ‘Don’t question what I do, this is simply because I am bigger then you and I have the authority to do anything on you.

From this incident number 8 learned a lesson. For itself to be greater, it should harass and beat those in lower. So, in the same way number 8 beat number 7 and when number 7 asked for reason it told the same arrogant reply of the number 9. This harassment followed between each of the numbers until number 2 beat number 1.

But the number 1 was unique. It had only 0 behind it which already is worthless and unworthy by its own.  Instead of beating the 0, brought the 0 towards its right, hugged and stood close by it.
Thus, by being kind to the worthless 0.  It turned to be number 10, the greater than all other single numbers

_Moral of the story: Don’t harass or beat someone inferior to you in order to be superior. Rather hug them in life and your status will only grow._

Heard this in one of Malayalam speech recently. Nice one for kids and also for adults who believe that to be superior in life has to turn others inferior. 😊

The Problems of life are like the waves of the ocean.

A Mother cat and her kitten were enjoying the seashore. As it was time for the sunset, mother cat asked the kitten to return back home. Kitten replied ‘No Mama’, I want to stay here. Mother asked why? Kitten replied. I see the ocean water is coming out to the shore. Slowly this will reduce the water and all the fish will be out. Then we can eat as many fish as we want. Mother advised ‘” *Your life will end, the waves will continue* ”.

Note: _This is how the problems of life is, like the waves of the ocean. If we wait to settle it, our life will end, not the problems.

Glorious Quran!

How would we react if we are told a Bayan of a great Moulana is being burned or the knowledge of Islam is being ignited. Our reaction would be,  how can anyone burn a bayan or destroy a knowledge!. So if the Kalam of a human cannot be touched or burned, how can anyone touch or burn the Kalam of Rabbul Alameen.

What they can burn is a recorded media and not the Bayan. A book but not knowledge. A Mus'haf not the Quran.  Quran is an Oral book recited, memorized, acted upon and transmitted through generations of this Ummah. Allah is its protector and He protects it through those hearts that carry it. If book was the main source, we would not be reciting Quran rather reading it like any hadeeth texts without its tunes. All that tunes and rythem of reciting Quran is a transmitted thing through generation after generation exactly as it was revealed and recited by beloved Prophet (s.a.w).

So is the knowledge of Islam. The main sources are those who carry the knowledge and books are secondary. Ummah has a great loss when an Aalim dies not when a book is lost.  We have lost thousand of books in history but not the knowledge. As the source of all knowledge is the Quran, it can never be destroyed until Allah raises Quran back unto Him.  It is said that the color of Tigris turned black and red, when Tartars killed Muslims and burned our greatest libraries in Bag.  If we read Quran a thousand times and the Hadees books, we would never get the right method of prayer, had not our Ulama and elders transmitted to us through generations as seen from beloved Prophet (s.a.w).

When wealth is lost, nothing is lost; when health is lost, something is lost; when character is lost, all is lost. (Quote:Billy Graham)

So if given priority as an Ummah.

When our wealths are lost, nothing is lost.
When Masajids, Madrassas, Libraries, Mus'haf etc. are lost, something is lost.
When Eemaan and qualities of a believer are lost in us. Everything is lost.

RAMADAN 1438

Ramadan arrives again as a precious guest who comes to our life. He may not come again or we may not be there to greet him another time. So treat Ramadan the best ways possible.

Being happy with what you own.

Awarded photos often goes  with poor and poverty shots. They win the hearts.

Here is another award winnable photo by me.  A Sudani raiding his donkey with a full fledged smile past my vehicle.  If we could weigh happiness on a scale,  his could surpass that of a BMW raider.

Being Realistic.

Today when you are alive, no one has time to look at your face and smile. Tomorrow when you are dead, they all come to you to see your face. (a kind of formality)

The employees were informed about the death of a child of their boss. So, they all set to his home in sad mood to join the mourning. On their way, someone informed, it is not the child of the boss who died, it is the very boss himself. There then they all returned back smiling.  (Formality)

_Most of people act in formalities, few act wholeheartedly_

One of the qualities of Sahaba (r.a) as comes in Hadith is  أقلها تكلفاً  . They were the least superficial. If they did or said it, they truly mean it.

As we hear things like ‘What a great book it is, but I haven’t understood a bit… or  ‘This humble person humbly speaking before you’ and the very speech may be of harsh.   Humbleness is not in the word ‘humble’, it is in the character.

*Sahaba (r.a) when they say it, they mean it*.  أقلها تكلفاً

I have my Allah.

A child of a celebrity who has got everything in life in his childhood once asked another child who was bit poor. “You see what I have gained and got in life. I have in life almost my own of everything, what have you got? The poor child replied “ I have got my mother “.

He was replying the greatest he has in his heart which for him is above everything. The love and care of his mother that he experiences, nothing of this world comes even closer to it.

If we Muslims are asked what we have got in life, when others may have got everything. If we could reply with that sincerity and innocence of that child “ I have got my Allah ” Then truly Allah would be ours.

A Lift Experiance

1) I was once getting down a lift in Makkah almost in full and it stopped in one of the floor to get in more people. I tried to close the door as I felt it was already full. One of the elderly pilgrim beside me then said ‘ _Dil mein Jagha hei to Jagha hai_ ’ – _If there is space in the heart, there is still space_. So, I let the door open.

When you think, your vehicle is full, there may be more space for someone.

When you think, your house is full, there may be more space for someone.

When you think your sufra (dining) is full, there may be more space for someone.

When you think your saff (rows in prayer) is full, there may be more space for someone.

When you think your country is full, there may be more space for many someones (refugees).

*IF THERE IS SPACE IN THE HEART, THERE IS SPACE : ‘DIL MEIN JAGHA HEI TO JAGHA HAI’*

فَٱفۡسَحُواْ يَفۡسَحِ ٱللَّهُ لَكُمۡ‌ۖ
Make space (room), and Allah will make space for you (Surah Al-Mujadilah: Part of Ayah No.11 )

2) Recently I was getting down the elevator of Jeddah business center. I asked the guy inside of it as I got in, are you going down. He replied ‘ *Yes, we are all going down anyway this day or the other*. He just reminded my grave.

3) Musa Moulana May Allah have mercy on him once narrated his lift experience he had in Makkah.

During the Haj days, the hardest thing to get back to one’s room is getting a lift. Especially after Friday prayer. Moulana was waiting for long to get his lift and he finally got the chance to get in. Suddenly a young Arab overtook Moulana, got in and he clicked the close button. As the door was closing Moulana said to him ‘ الله اقوى منك Allah is powerful (mightier) then you.

As the young man heard this word, he immediately clicked open the door, came out, kissed the forehead of Moulana and said ‘ فضل يا شيخ – Welcome O elderly (scholarly) one. This Youngman then used to visit Moulana at his room.

Moulana narrated this to show the quality of Arabs, when the name Allah was mentioned before them, they put everything of their self-prides beside and submitted to the One who is Most High.

إِنَّمَا ٱلۡمُؤۡمِنُونَ ٱلَّذِينَ إِذَا ذُكِرَ ٱللَّهُ وَجِلَتۡ قُلُوبُہُمۡ
Certainly, the believers are those whose hearts are filled with awe when (the name of) Allah is mentioned; (Surah Al-Anfal: Part of Ayah No.2)

Home Shifting.

I was busy shifting past a week from my old flat where I had been staying more than a decade to a new one close by. Shifting is a huge task. Furniture, home appliances that are wanted and unwanted has to be sorted out and moved. It’s not just the home that is shifted, the whole neighborhood is new. So, it’s quite a heavy task.

Then what about our shift from this world to the next? How do we shift our luggage and belongings to the eternal world ahead of us? Well this works very systematically.

As man turn to adulthood, the process of shifting to the next world has already started. Every day and night our luggage of deeds is send to Allah. Good or the bad, they are sent in packets to the destination where they belong. At last when man finally leaves this world, he is gone through a security gate (as in airport) where not even a hand baggage of this dunya is allowed to be taken in; but the luggage for hereafter(akhirah) of the good deeds or the bad deeds are already sent or will be following him after.

يُرْفَعُ إِلَيْهِ عَمَلُ اللَّيْلِ قَبْلَ عَمَلِ النَّهَارِ ، وَعَمَلُ النَّهَارِ قَبْلَ عَمَلِ اللَّيْلِ

The deeds in the night are taken up to Him before the deeds of the day. and the deeds of the day before the deeds of the night (Part of Hadith No.343 in Saheeh Muslim)

Then a dashboard of our deeds (of His Ummah) are shown to beloved Prophet (s.a.w) biweekly.

“Your actions will be presented to me, and if I see goodness I will praise Allah, and if I see evil I will ask forgiveness of Him for you”. (Hadith)

As fair ruling, man is destined to go to the address where his luggage he himself has sent in his lifetime. The good goes to the eternal paradise whereas the bad goes to the eternal hell fire.

كُلُّ نَفۡسِۭ بِمَا كَسَبَتۡ رَهِينَةٌ
Every soul is a pledge for its own deeds; (Surah Al-Muddathir: Ayah No.38)

If anyone realizes his mistakes of wrongly sending to the wrong address and want a shift before he leaves this world. Allah with His Mercy converts all his previously shipped garbage into equal weight of good deeds. This is His Mercy. As man, cannot travel back in time, all his years spent on disobeying Allah cannot himself get swapped. Sinning is also of greater effort and of expense than doing good. Allah with His mercy re-packs them as good deeds to weigh as good.

Except those who repent, and believe and do righteous deeds, for as to these, ALLAH will convert their evil deeds into good ones, and ALLAH is Most Forgiving, Merciful. (Surah Al Furqan: Ayah No.70)

Some of their luggage are so heavy that they are kept shipping to their address even after their death. Good or the bad.
وَنَڪۡتُبُ مَا قَدَّمُواْ وَءَاثَـٰرَهُمۡۚ
We write down what they have sent before and their footprints (Surah Ya-Seen: Part of Ayah No.12)

Hence keep sending luggage to our real shift from this world to a world of eternity. Lucky is the one whose good deeds over weighs his bad deeds. Luckier is the one whose bad deeds gets converted as good deeds by Allah Himself (through sincere repentance). Loser is he who could send only garbage and has his disastrous ending in the eternal hell.

يَوۡمَٮِٕذٍ۬ تُعۡرَضُونَ لَا تَخۡفَىٰ مِنكُمۡ خَافِيَةٌ۬
On that day ye will be exposed; not a secret of you will be hidden. (Surah Al-Haqqa: Ayah No.18)

The day we are returned to Allah, that good luggage that we send everyday shall alone benefit us for that endless journey.

May Allah help us all.

The real reason of death is the very birth.

Death will have some reason else angel of death would be blamed. If there were no reason, each death would have been a mystery like the missing of Malaysian airlines Flight 370, a trouble for the living and the dear ones.

It is said that someone who escaped fall from Niagara waterfall died after slipping over a banana skin in India_

فكم من صحيح مات من غير علة , وكم من سقيم عاش حينا من الدهر

How many of the healthy died of no any real reasons. And how many of the sick withstood the time.

Line of poetry by Imam Al-Shafiee (rah)
The real reason of death is the very birth. Whoever is born, must die. A return ticket for each one of us along with the boarding pass is taken with gate (place) and time printed. No any change or cancellation in this. Allah created (destined) our death before our very life.

Driving through the Dunya to Akhirath

Our journey is towards the Qabr and Akhirath. In front of us should be Akhirah and behind us the Dunya. Example is that of a driver driving his car. If he looks only in the rear mirror and drive, his car will go and hit (crash) the front. If he ignores the rear mirror, someone from back may hit. Hence his focus should be the front and at the same time have an eye on the rear mirror as he drives on.

Note: If we see only Dunya, our Akhirath will spoil. If we only see Akhirath and totally ignore Dunya, Our Dunya from back (Wife, Children, Livelihood etc) may hit us. So, needs a balance between the two. Just as the driver, Akhirath should be viewed through the front big glass and same time have a look at Dunya through the rear mirror in order to have a smooth driving and safe journey.

Driving the Life to it's Destination.

Life is like driving a car. Driving by its nature has to be taken for serious. A small error in the traffic may be the end of everything. Same time, driving is also an art, enjoy it. The traffic rules are not made in order to terrify us, but for our own safety and wellness. Without obeying the traffic rules, one will never be able to reach the destination.

So is the Deen of Allah Azzawajal. There are rules and regulations, حدود الله the limits of Allah. Allah has set for us the rules because He wants us to reach to Him in safe.  He wants us to enjoy this life within its boundaries. Don’t wait to enjoy the destination, enjoy the very journey itself. Even a desert can be beautiful if there is beauty in the heart.  Sing the song of life as you drive on the way. Enjoy the green gardens and valleys. Appreciate the One who has designed everything so perfect. The beauty we see is just His art works, think how beautiful then is the Artist.

People around you may be rich in their worldly possession.  But not all are rich with the stock of smile. A believer is someone who should be having it enough, hence give it to others. it’s a charity, it’s a Sunnah.

"A smile is happiness you'll find right under your nose." – (Quote)

When you see a Muslim smiling: say this Dua.. أَضْحَكَ اللَّهُ سِنَّكَ  "May Allah keep you smiling"

Hence between the burst out laughter and being too serious, there is a way to smile and take things coolly.
