The reason to write this
was a call from the person whom I took them for a visit to important places in
Makkah. They wanted to thank me again as they were much impressed from a small
service done to them. I showed them Mina all around, took to the very inner of
Mina up to the Jamarath so they could see inside the new huge terminal and
throw few pebbles. Took them to Jabal Al Noor (Cave Hira), the mount that is
the first place of revelation. Then to Muzdajifa where piligrims should stay on the night of 9th Dul Hijja. Then
to the Arafath, & the Jabal Al-Rahma, and to the mount Thour on the
outskirts of Makkah where the cave exists that’s referred in the Holy Quran as
a place of hiding during Hijra of beloved Prophet (s.a.w) to Madeena. Of course
did not get on the mountain as they are time consuming and an unnecessary task
sometimes. That's more a thrill than a task for a pilgrim. The purpose of visit
should be nothing but to see the historical locations. There is much to learn
if we remember those old days of Makkah. One may wonder how easily Hazrath
Khadeeja (r.a) in those days got up & down those huge mountains numerous
times. As for the sight of Hajj locations, turns a rehearsal before the actual
days begin.
The message I want to convey is that sometimes a small help
towards someone may be treated with great importance if this help comes to him
when he was in dire need of it. It may have been a very small task in our eyes,
but someone who was worthy to serve at ripe time takes its value to very high.
He may remember you all his life for the little service you have done for him.
Whenever there comes a chance for him to sees you later in life, behind his
curtain of memories, he has those moments playing clearly as a video in him. He
may even try all his means to express back that gratitude that once was shown
to him. No need to enlist what the services are. Each of us could do and in
fact does many things that may make someone’s life easy or make their day
happy.
Remember this Prophetic Hadees when you get a chance to help
someone.
والله في عون العبد ما كان العبد في عون أخيه
“Allah will help the servant as long as he helps his brother,
(Part of a Long Hadeeth in Saheeh Muslim)
Memorize this part of Hadees, it shall give the motive to any
good service that you do to your brother, you start believing nothing shall be
waste, all this shall remain for me with my Lord and I am in fact turning my
small time precious when helping others. At a time when everything is taken in
exchange of money, you do something for the sake of Allah and Allah's surely
shall help you in your affairs.
